The End of Con Season...Nearly

Last week Emily and I finished out or con season up in beautiful (but very wet) Kendal for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. It was a weekend of editors! We caught up with John Freeman, the editor of Gateway City and I met Eli Winter, editor over at Cult Empire Comics for the first time. Despite the hurricane-like weather, the festival had a warm atmosphere and welcomed in the launch of some great new books.

But for now, we say adieu to the atlas as we settle in to Portsmouth for the winter...well...almost. The very gracious and wonderfully amenable, Matt Hardy of Mad Robot Comics has agreed to hold a couple of copies of the Gateway City trade on his table for MCM London. Thanks, Matt! You're the best.

Speaking of Gateway, most of the trades have now been posted with just a few surveys left to come back. I really appreciate all the backers and new buyers for the book. The kind words have meant the world and I'm anxious to get the next installment out to you.

Image of Still from a non-existent noir film: bandaged handFor those who've received the sketchbook or picked one up at a recent con, there are a few pieces from the book for sale over on my Big Cartel site. Go have a gander! I'll also be adding a few original pages in the next few weeks.

The second issue of Lady Hollywood is coming along now that Gateway has been put to bed, sort of. I'm really pleased with the new pages and I can't wait to share it with you all. George Lennox has written a great, pulpy, B-movie-esque script bristling with action.

Well, that's all for now! I'll be back in touch soon with more happenings and goings-ons!

Thanks and take care!
